About India Egg Rate

A daily egg price you can check in five seconds, and seventeen years of history behind it if you want the context.

What this is

India Egg Rate publishes the daily egg rate for every market the National Egg Co-ordination Committee covers — 34 of them — in the units eggs are actually traded in: per egg, per tray of 30, per 100, and per peti of 210.

Who it is for

What makes it different

Most sites show you today’s number and perhaps the last ten days. We keep every daily NECC rate since 2009 — roughly 199,000 prices — which is what lets a city page tell you not just today’s rate but whether eggs are usually dearer in December, what the all-time high was, and how this year compares to the last sixteen.

We are also careful about what we do not know. NECC publishes wholesale rates only, so we do not invent a retail price and present it as measured. Where a figure is an estimate, we show it as a range and say so.

Where the numbers come from

Straight from NECC’s own daily sheet. The full explanation — including what “suggested” versus “prevailing” means, and what we do when a fetch fails — is on where rates come from.

Independence

India Egg Rate is an independent archive. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to NECC. We publish their figures because they are the reference the trade uses, and we say so on every page.
